COVID-19 Safety Policy

At NP Nutra®, we take the health and safety of our customers, manufacturing partners and employees very seriously.

Since the onset of COVID-19, NP Nutra® has been proactive in implementing and expanding initiatives to support our supply chain, while maintaining open communication with all concerned parties.

On February 3rd NP Nutra® established a Coronavirus Risk Assessment and Mitigation Team (CV-RAM Team) to monitor, research and implement risk elimination strategies. You can read the full communication here.

On March 2nd NP Nutra implemented further health, safety, sanitation and social-distancing policies throughout the company and within our facilities for enhanced risk mitigation in an effort to prevent the virus from affecting our employees or introducing it into our facilities. These include:

  1. Limiting/restricting visitors to our facilities and, where feasible, staff are working remotely via conferencing.
  2. We are maintaining close contact with our manufacturing partners to ensure they have implemented and are maintaining stringent risk mitigation procedures to ensure the health and safety of their workers and to ensure sanitary production environments.
  3. Anticipating and allowing for slightly longer lead times from some manufacturing partner facilities due to the implementation of additional safety steps at some ports of origin.

On March 19th Governor Newsom issued a ‘Stay-at-home’ Executive Order for the state of California in an effort to mitigate the impact of COVID-19 Coronavirus. Governor Newsom stated that the supply chain must continue, and as an ‘Essential Business’ providing food and beverage ingredients to other ‘Essential Businesses’, NP Nutra® will remain open.

In addition to maintaining our existing rigorous standards of sanitation and cleanliness at our facility, NP Nutra® has implemented the following in accordance with CDC guidelines:

  1. Where possible, team members are working remotely and using online conferencing as a tool to maintain effective communication and work relationships between departments.
  2. When required to work at our facility, employees are following the social distancing guidelines at least six (6) feet between each team member and we are limiting employees to the minimum required to safely and effectively carry out the necessary workload.
  3. All employees are regularly utilizing hand washing facilities with soap and water, and hand sanitizer containing at least 60 percent alcohol, which is positioned at various locations throughout our facility.

As you may have heard some countries are on lockdown and some airports and ports in origin countries are temporarily closed. At present we have good inventory of most products and encourage customers to stay ahead of matters by placing orders early to avoid any potential out of stocks.

We do want to provide preliminary notice that in some instances inbound shipments could be delayed. Our Production & Purchasing Department is keeping in close contact with our manufacturing partners to monitor delays and changes in circumstances as they arise with the various origin countries from which our products are sourced. We will do our best to keep all customers informed, but as you will appreciate this is a very fluid and very rapidly changing situation. We encourage you to contact your Account Manager if you have questions about any specific products or orders.

If your quality control team has any further questions about the steps NP Nutra® is undertaking to mitigate risk, please direct your inquiry to our Coronavirus Risk Assessment and Mitigation (CV-RAM) Team via your account manager. Please rest assured that NP Nutra® will continue to take all measures necessary to ensure that the products that we supply to you, our valued customers, continue to be safe.
