Muira Puama is a tree native to Brazil, and can be found in abundance along the Amazon River and in other parts of the Amazon rainforest. This tree craves moisture and thrives in the tropical climate of the Amazon. It grows to around 15 feet tall and is called an "understory" tree, as it is a smaller tree that grows below the rainforest canopy.
The delicate white blooms of Muira Puama have a heady fragrance that is often compared to the exotic scent of jasmine. However, it is the bark and roots of Muira Puama that are most commonly used in herbal treatments
