General Info:
Belonging to the Buttercup family, Goldenseal is an herb that grows from 6 to 12 inches high with a perennial root. It produces small white flowers, which bloom in April and early May. The fruit resembles a raspberry, but is inedible. Its root rhizomes are gathered in the autumn after the foliage has died back. It is then dried and used as medicine.
