General Info:
Native to North America, Black Cohosh is an herbaceous perennial reaching a mature height well above four feet. It thrives in moist and shady environments. Because of its long stalks of beautiful small, white, feathery flowers, it is often seen in gardens. Its roots and rhizomes have beneficial properties. In the fall, when the leaves on the plant start to die, the dark brown root is harvested, cleaned, and dried. Then it can either be powdered or prepared into a tincture.
